and Washington DC through Web Site: www.10secondmanager.com/fastangels/
LOS ALTOS HILLS, Calif.March 7, 2001
Mark Breier, formerly an executive at Beyond.com and Amazon.com and author of "The 10-Second Internet Manager," today announced Fast Angels Ventures, a new angel fund that will offer seed funding and intensive mentoring to early-stage high-tech entrepreneurs. The Silicon Valley-based group, representing up to $20 million in investment funding, will invest from $50,000 to $1 million on technology ideas that helps people or businesses 'act faster' or 'act smarter.'
"There's been a firestorm in the technology sector, but the ground is fertile with skilled staff, and the clouds are filled with over $100 billion in venture capital funds. The catalyst will be mentors who offer seed funding and advice to entrepreneurs," said Breier, firm general partner and author of the book "The 10-Second Internet Manager," which explores the 'Act Fast' secrets of industry leaders such as Amazon, Dell, Microsoft, Yahoo and AOL.
"We are a new, faster source of seed money," says Breier. "The 'FAST' in our name means Funding, Accessibility, Strategic Help and Talent. We assemble angel teams to add the maximum early value to an entrepreneur." Fast Angels Ventures will rely heavily on technology to speed up the submission and review process, including requiring online applications via a Web site (www.10secondmanager.com/fastangels/), and holding online meetings with investors to review business proposals.
The fund targets entrepreneurs in the technology-rich areas of San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, New York, Seattle, Chicago and Washington, DC. The first investment for Fast Angels Ventures is a new company, MultiDigit, Inc., which facilitates easier data input into cell phones, handheld devices, and remote controls.
Breier will be promoting Fast Angel Ventures through speaking engagements, a monthly e-mail newsletter on management tips and the Web site associated with his book, "The 10-Second Internet Manager," (www.10secondmanager.com), which offers advice on creating and driving a fast company in today's business environment.
